If you are employed in the any Hospitality and Tourism business in Simcoe County you are eligible to nominate someone for any of the following awards:

HOSPITALITY MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award is presented by the Simcoe Region of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association to an individual Hotel or Restaurant Manager who demonstrates leadership and innovation in the Simcoe County Hospitality industry and has made a significant contribution to the advancement of the industry through promoting the growth and positioning of the Hospitality and Tourism business in our region.

Criteria:

This individual:

  • Is employed by / or owns a business that displays an innovative capacity for growth and public acceptance, serving the forward-looking ideas of the industry

  • Displays honesty and integrity in all practices while dealing with industry and public

  • Has demonstrated leadership and innovation in the regions Hospitality industry

  • The award will be presented to the winner at the Simcoe ORHMA Hospitality Awards Event

LOCAL CHEF OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award is presented by the Simcoe Region of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association to a Chef or Kitchen Manager in the region who has demonstrated leadership and innovation in integrating local foods / supplies into their restaurant / foodservice establishment. The efforts of this Chef stimulate local economy / hospitality industry through introducing local foods to the consumer and further enhancing regional culinary tourism.

Criteria:

This individual:

  • Has demonstrated leadership and innovation in integrating local foods / supplies into their restaurant / foodservice establishment

  • Stimulates local economy / hospitality industry by introducing local foods to the consumer and supporting regional culinary tourism

  • is employed by a restaurant or a foodservice establishment currently operating in the region OR is an independent owner / operator

  • The award will be presented to the winner at the Simcoe Hospitality Awards Event

INDUSTRY RECOGNITION AWARD

This award is presented by the Simcoe Region of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association to an organization or an individual who has made a long standing contribution to the hospitality industry. This organization / individual are a leader in positioning and supporting Simcoe’s hospitality and tourism industry in the national and / or international arena.

Criteria:

This individual / organization:

  • Has made a long standing contribution to the restaurant or accommodations industry

  • Is a leader in positioning and supporting Simcoe’s Hospitality and Tourism industry in the national and / or international arena

  • Is employed by a restaurant or hotel currently operating in the region OR is an independent owner / operator

  • The award will be presented to the winner at the Simcoe Hospitality Awards Event

FOODSERVICE AND HOSPITALITY SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award is presented by the Simcoe Region of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association to an organization or an organizational representative who has supported local Hospitality and Tourism establishments through providing exceptional service and products, providing special value added programs and supporting local restaurant / industry events and initiatives.

Criteria:

This individual / organization:

  • Has contributed to supporting and promoting local Hospitality and Tourism Events

  • Supported industry establishments through providing exceptional service and products

  • Providing special value added programs and supporting restaurant

  • The award will be presented to the winner at the Simcoe Hospitality Awards Event

HEART OF THE HOUSE - LEGACY AWARD

This award is presented by the Simcoe Region of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association to any individual working in a Hospitality and Tourism business in Simcoe County. This award is for someone who truly goes above and beyond in their job. This person should exemplify hard work and dedication to the industry.

Criteria:

This individual / organization:

  • Has contributed to supporting a positive work environment

  • Supported the establishment through providing exceptional commitment to service

  • Has been a positive influence in the work team environment

  • Has shown dedication and commitment to the industry through long service

  • This award will be presented to the winner at the Simcoe Hospitality Awards Event

NOMINATE for an Industry Award

All Award Nominations are open in both Industry and People’s choice from February 15th till March 15th 2017.

The top 15 candidates in each category will be posted online.

The top three candidates in each category will be notified prior to the Gala.

Winners will be selected from the top 15 candidates by The ORHMA Awards selection committee.
